Specialized Care for Women in Perimenopause and Menopause

Hormone Therapy and Nonhormonal Therapy

Menopause is a natural biological process marking the end of a woman’s reproductive years. It typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, although it can happen earlier or later. The transition into menopause, known as perimenopause, brings about a variety of symptoms, which can range from mild to severe and impact daily life. This transitional period can last for several years. The most common symptoms include Hot Flashes, Night Sweats, Irregular Periods, Vaginal Dryness, Sleep Disturbances, Mood Changes, Weight Gain, Thinning Hair, Memory and Cognitive Problems, Loss of Libido, and Joint Pain.

Managing menopause symptoms often requires a personalized approach, as each woman experiences menopause differently. There are various treatment options available, including both hormonal and nonhormonal therapies.

Hormonal therapy, also known as hormone replacement therapy (HRT), is one of the most effective treatments for alleviating perimenopause/menopause symptoms. The main types of hormonal therapies include estrogen therapy, a combination of estrogen and progesterone, and testosterone.

For those who cannot or prefer not to use hormonal therapies, there are several nonhormonal options available to help manage menopause symptoms.

Menopause is a natural transition that comes with a variety of symptoms and challenges. Understanding the available treatment options, both hormonal and nonhormonal, can help women make informed decisions about managing their symptoms. It is crucial to work closely with a healthcare provider to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses individual needs and preferences. With the right approach, it is possible to navigate perimenopause/menopause with improved comfort and quality of life.

Health Coaching to Improve Menopause Symptoms and Optimize Health

Women in midlife encounter specific challenges related to perimenopause and menopause. Strategies that were effective in earlier decades may not be as successful during the 40s, 50s, and beyond. Lifestyle modifications, including exercise, nutrition, sleep optimization, and stress management, have been shown to alleviate symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, as well as improve overall health. However, a universal approach is not the most effective, as individual preferences and abilities need to be considered. Health coaching offers a personalized method for implementing these lifestyle changes.

Initial Consultation $450 (Includes one 60 minute appointment and one 30 minute follow up appointment)

Personalized Care Plan Includes:

Thorough Discussion of Lifestyle and Health History

We will begin by exploring your lifestyle and health history comprehensively, understanding the factors that have shaped your current health status. This discussion will include an evaluation of your daily routines, dietary habits, exercise regimen, sleep patterns, and any stressors or significant life events that may impact your well-being.

Short- and Long-Term Goals

Next, we will identify both your short-term and long-term health goals. This step is crucial in tailoring a treatment plan that aligns with your personal aspirations, whether it be improving energy levels, managing symptoms of menopause, or achieving overall wellness.

In-Depth Discussion Surrounding Hormone Therapy

An essential part of our consultation will be an in-depth conversation about hormone therapy. We will cover the benefits, potential risks, and the various options available, ensuring you have a clear understanding to make informed decisions regarding your treatment.

Lab Order Using Your Existing Health Insurance

We will proceed with ordering the necessary lab tests through your existing health insurance. These tests are vital for gaining a comprehensive insight into your hormonal levels and overall health, forming the foundation of your personalized treatment plan.

Comprehensive Lab Review

Once the lab results are received, I will conduct a thorough review and interpretation, highlighting key findings and how they correlate with your symptoms and health goals. This review is integral to developing an effective and targeted treatment strategy.

Development of Treatment Plan Using Shared Decision Making

Together, we will develop a treatment plan that utilizes shared decision-making principles. This collaborative approach ensures that your preferences and values are considered, and you are actively involved in every step of your healthcare journey.

Any Necessary Prescriptions Including Hormone Therapy

If appropriate, I will prescribe the necessary medications, including hormone therapy. Please note that the cost of prescriptions is not included in the price of the consultation. However, most medications are covered by insurance or available at a low cost. This ensures that you receive the treatment required without undue financial burden.

Follow-Up Appointments $175 (Discounted prepaid packages available)

Regular follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor your treatment progress and provide ongoing health coaching. These appointments are designed to help you meet both your short-term and long-term health goals, ensuring you remain on track and any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan are made promptly. Through these consistent check-ins, we can address any concerns, assess your response to therapy, and celebrate your achievements as you move towards optimal health.
